MONO.KULTUR의 열 여섯번째 호는 미란다 줄라이(Miranda July)가 '하렐 플레쳐(Harrell Fletcher)'와 공동으로 기획한 프로젝트 '러닝 투 러브 유 모어(Learning To Love You More)'에서 사람들에게 제시한 과제 들을 소재로 그녀의 작업세계를 소개합니다.

'과거의 자신에게 충고하라(#53: Give Advice To Yourself In The Past)', '자신의 특정한 날에 대한 선전물을 만들어라(#10:Make A Flyer About Your Day)', '자신을 깨우는 소리를 녹음하라(58# :Record The Sound That Is Keeping You Awake)' 등의 미션을 소 주제로 선정하여, 예술과 관련된 정규 미술 교육 없이 스스로 창작 활동을 해 온 미란다 줄라이가 자신의 생활 안에서 창안한 타인 과의 소통방법에 대해 이야기합니다.

2005년 자신이 주연한 첫 장편 독립영화 '미 앤 유 앤 에브리원 위 노우(Me And You And Everyone We Know)'로 선댄스, 칸을 비롯한 유수 영화제에 수상하며 세상에 알려진 미란다 줄라이(Miranda July)는 10대 시절부터 끊임없이 극단적이며 강렬한 프로젝트를 시도해 왔습니다.

영화, 연극, 비디오 아트, 퍼포먼스, 디자인, 소설, 범세계적인 온라인 프로젝트 등 매체와 수단을 가리지않고 다양한 형식으로 타인과의 소통을 위한 여러 방법론을 제시하는 미란다 줄라이(Miranda July)의 직설적이고, 직접적인 작업 방식은 많은 사람들에게 깊은 인상을 심어주었고, 미술계 뿐만 아니라 대중에게도 많은 사랑을 받고 있습니다.
최근 로스앤젤레스에서 두 번째 장편영화를 작업하고 있습니다.
